According to Padma Purana there is another interesting story regarding why Ganesha loves modak. Once the Devas (demi gods) came to visit Shiva and Goddess Parvati and presented them a divine modak. It was a very special modakand the person who ate it was supposed to become knowledgeable in all scriptures, science, art and writing. Goddess Parvati wanted to present it to her sons – Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartik. But the brothers were not ready to share it. So a confused Goddess Parvati finally stated that whoever among them proved the true meaning of sincerity and devotion would get the sweet delicacy.

History of Chocolate's
The history of chocolates dates back to the Mesoamerican age.It is assumed that they were the first to consume chocolate and there's enough scientific evidence to support it.
Mesoamerican usage:
A Maya lord forbids an individual from touching a container of chocolate.
Chocolate has been prepared as a drink for nearly all of its history. For example, one vessel found at an Olmec archaeological site on the Gulf Coast of Veracruz, Mexico, dates chocolate's preparation by pre-Olmec peoples as early as 1750 BC. On the Pacific coast of Chiapas, Mexico, a Mokaya archaeological site provides evidence of cacao beverages dating even earlier, to 1900 BC. The residues and the kind of vessel in which they were found indicate the initial use of cacao was not simply as a beverage, but the white pulp around the cacao beans was likely used as a source of fermentable sugars for an alcoholic drink.
Chocolate vs Candy vs Toffey
Hard boiled candy, also known as sugar candy, is made from sugar and water or milk. Toffee is a type of candy, in which sugar or molasses is mixed with butter and occasionally flour, and heated to the point of caramelizing. Chocolate, on the other hand, varies from candy. Instead of being made primarily of sugar, chocolate is actually made form the seeds of the tropical Theobroma cacao tree.

Have some Chocolates.. it'll make you feel Happy...
There are so many reasons why chocolate makes people happy that it’s difficult to know where to start, but let’s begin with the simpler explanations. Think about the last time you ate a piece of chocolate. Did it make you happy? The chances are that it did. Chocolate makes people happy because it tastes good and provides a moment’s respite from busy, and often stressed-out, lives. For some, chocolate is a guilty pleasure, and we are firm believers in the old adage that forbidden fruit is always the most satisfying. Just seeing chocolate, or inhaling its wonderful aroma, has quickened the beat of many a chocolate-lover’s heart.
Chocolates as Medicine across Cultures....
Throughout history, chocolate has been used to treat a wide variety of ailments, and in recent years, multiple studies have found that chocolate can have positive health effects, providing evidence to a centuries-long established use; this acknowledgement, however, did not have a straight course, having been involved in religious, medical and cultural controversies. Christian Europe, in fact, feared the exhilarating effects of new drinks, such as chocolate, coffee and tea. Therefore, these beverages would have been banished, had not doctors and scientists explained that they were good for the body. The scientific debate, which reached its peak in Florence in the 18th century, regarded the therapeutic effectiveness of the various chocolate components: it was necessary to know their properties first, in order to prepare the best cacao concoction for every patient. When Dietetics separated from Medicine, however, chocolate acquired the role of vehicle for easing the administration of bitter medicines, being associated to different health problems. The recent rediscovery of the beneficial use of cacao and chocolate focuses upon its value as supplemental nutrition. Building a bridge to the past may be helpful to detect the areas where the potential health benefits of chocolate are likely to be further explored.
